Co-op donates $100K to Yorkton’s Anne Portnuff Theatre
(June 15, 2017) — Co-op is pitching in to help renovate Yorkton’s Anne Portnuff Theatre. ...
The Anne Portnuff Theatre Revitalization Project has received a $100,000 donation through Co-op Community Spaces, a funding program supporting recreation, environmental conservation, and urban agriculture projects.
The funds will help the local organization replace the existing seating in the theatre, which is now 50 years old.
The renovation will allow the theatre — Yorkton’s largest cultural venue — to better accommodate the many events it hosts, which includes community performances, events, and school functions.
“The donation today by Yorkton Co-op, and the Community Spaces program is a tremendous contribution to the community”, said Tonia Vermette, Administrator with Yorkton Arts Council. “These funds will directly impact those using the Anne Portnuff Theatre, by providing new seating”.
